In March, Orange Bowl members such as Chris Havlicek and staff along with other partners came together to hand out shoes to over 50 South Florida youths as part of the “Kicks for Kids” program. In its 5th year, the program has collected over 15,000 pairs of athletic sneakers that will allow the recipients, who may not have been able to afford these sneakers to participate in sport and exercise.
Donations were received from all through the South Florida community and some Broward and Miami-Dade County schools competed for school grants for being the top donation collectors. The sneakers were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Broward and Miami Dade along with Family Central, that serves over 100,000 families in South Florida.
